Embarcadero Debuts On-Demand, Multi-Platform Software Development Tool Chest

Posted by Josh Howard on February 18, 2009

Embarcadero today announced the launch of All-Access, the  industry’s first software development tool chest that provides application developers, data architects and database professionals with cost effective, on-demand access to all the tools they need to design, build and run their software applications and data systems.

All-Access enables you to choose from one of four All-Access levels providing on-demand access to 18 award winning development and management products. This is also a cost effective way to access some of Embarcadero’s leading database design and modeling tools. Each of the four levels include on-demand access to Embarcadero’s Online metadata search and reporting tool (ER/Portal), data model viewer tool (ER/Studio Viewer), and business process modeling tool (EA/Studio). Higher All-Access levels will get you full access to our data modeling tool ER/Studio. While some of our other tools like Schema Examiner and Universal Data Models are not currently available in All-Access, they can still be purchased as stand-alone tools and will work seamlessly with the All-Access licensing.

Another cool feature with All-Access is the introduction of  InstantOn™, a breakthrough feature that allows users to easily “click-and-run” All-Access tools on-demand, without installation, either locally or over the network. InstantOn saves  time and allows instant operation in locked-down desktop environments where installing software is problematic. The InstantOn capability is available today for many All-Access tools and will be available for all components of All-Access in Q2 2009.

We think this is a real game changer in the industry, and so do the leading analysts and publications. Here are a few links of what they have to say:

Invitation:
With the explosion of data within the enterprise and the need to truly understand how the data is used and accessed across your applications, businesses are elevating the importance modeling and improving how data is accessed. Today’s leading companies are taking data modeling to the next level and using it to respond to changing business conditions, reduce data redundancy and improve development productivity.

In this webinar, you will learn how to take a model-driven development approach with Delphi and RAD Studio 2009 Architect editions, powered by ER/Studio Developer Edition, to easily forward and reverse-engineer, analyze, and optimize existing databases. Taking a model-driven development approach reduces long-term costs by improving developer productivity and application performance.

Please join Reducing Time and Costs with a Model-Driven Development Approach to hear first-hand from Embarcadero Technologies’ Delphi Product Manager, Nick Hodges and Director of Modeling, Jason Tiret as they walk you through:

  • ER/Studio Developer Edition – How to use the industry leading data modeling tool that is now included in the Architect Editions
  • Architect your data – Learn how to easily reverse-engineer, analyze, and optimize existing databases with round-trip database support
  • Database life cycle support – Construct graphical models from an existing database or schema and modify your database directly
  • Model-driven database design – Build multilevel designs with this highly productive environment using the advanced graphics capabilities, automated and custom transformations, de-normalization mapping and extensible automation
