Extend Your ER/Studio Portal with New Reports

Posted by Josh Howard on June 18, 2009

Embarcadero Technologies, a database tools and software company, has revolutionized collaborative data modeling with the introduction of the ER/Studio Portal last year.

The Portal, a search engine for data that transforms the way metadata, business rules and models are located and accessed in the enterprise, and provides global visibility into corporate data assets and gives ER/Studio Enterprise users an unprecedented understanding of the information in their enterprise and facilitates company-wide collaboration.

An important feature of the Portal are all great technical and business reports that come standard with the tool. Users and administrators can extend the capabilities of the Enterprise Portal with new reports and charts.

Take a few minutes and learn how to create new reports and integrate them into the Enterprise Portal by using the same tools that were used to build the Enterprise Portal itself.

The full presentation can be viewed online at www.embarcadero.com

Wanna see the power of the Portal in your own environment? You can download the ER/Studio Portal online at www.embarcadero.com

Enterprise Data Modeling Survey

Posted by Josh Howard on June 10, 2009

I’d like to invite you to participate in the Enterprise Data Modeling survey being conducted by Wilshire and Technics (Steve Hoberman’s publishing company). There was a similar survey two years ago which was designed by Steve and Graeme Simsion, to which over 500 people contributed responses.

It’s intended to assess some key aspects of data modeling practice and skills within enterprises, so if you work in a modeling role or manage modelers then we welcome your participation. If you’re a consultant in a similar capacity you are welcome also, but please answer the questions for your client environment only.

You can take the survey here:

Know Your Customer With Modern CDI

Knowing your customer can make all the difference in the world. But the number of data sources these days makes the challenge increasingly difficult.
